Safety in Ukraine

Safety in Ukraine, Is Ukraine Safe, Ukraine Travel Guide and Tourist Information

Safety in the Ukraine is like safety in any other country; common sense rules! There are big city pickpockets, street scams, and purse snatching, and violent crimes happen, but visitors are not usually victims of violence unless they travel to places that are known crime areas. Tourist should carry a passport at all times and keep valuables in hotel safes.
Use ATM machines that are in secure areas, and only exchange money in a bank. The Euro and the US Dollar are accepted currencies, and credit cards are accepted in the bigger cities, but the smaller towns don’t accept them. There is still a racist attitude in some parts of the Ukraine so it’s best to not travel alone at night, especially if you’re black.
