Most of the tourist attractions outside of the resorts are in Male. Male’s fish market, the Islamic Centre, the Local Market, and Huskuru Miskiiy Mosque built in the 17th century, as well as Mulee-aage, a palace built in 1906, attract large groups of tourists in season. The National Museum, which is the former Sultans Palace, is also a park and a favorite tourist destination. It has a large collection of cultural artifacts from various time periods.
