Cost of Living

The cost of living in China is no longer considered a bargain since the standard of living has increased over the last twenty years. Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai are considered expensive by anyone’s standards, but there are areas where prices are well below normal. Riding buses instead of using taxis and eating in noodle shops instead of fancy restaurants does save money, plus staying in three star hotels is still a bargain depending on where they are located. Most travelers who experience a China holiday can enjoy themselves for around one hundred dollars a day, but in order to experience the luxury that China has to offer you’ll need at least four to five hundred dollars a day and that just for starters.
