Cairo Health & Safety

Cairo Health and Safety, Cairo Travel Guide and Useful Information

Cairo is a safe city, but there are frequent reports that pickpockets prey on tourists. There are other scams that can take place in taxis, so it’s a good idea to make sure you know where you’re going and don’t try to exchange money with a taxi driver. Women can also be approached if they are walking alone, so it’s always a good idea to walk with someone, especially at night. Always keep you cash and passport in a secure money belt or hidden pocket that’s out of sight. Wallets and purses are easy targets, so only carry enough cash in them for small purchases. Use hotel safes for security and remember to use common sense.
