US Weather and When to Visit | USA Travel Guide and Tourist Information

Thanks to its enormous size America offers travelers several choices when is comes to finding perfect US weather and when to visit. It’s always excellent weather somewhere in the country, but in some areas it may seem like you just arrived in Hades. Any trip to the States may need tweaking based on the time of year, but the prime travel season is summer, which starts the last weekend in May and ends on the first Monday of September. Most Americans take their vacations in summer; they hit the beaches or the highways to enjoy the natural beauty that lies outside of the sizzling hot cities and the desert areas that feel like frying pans.

The seasons don’t always come at the same time every year. Spring is usually March to May and that's a perfect time to visit the South and the West. Fall is usually September to November and that's a great time to visit the Mid-West and East Coast. It usually rains a lot in the South in spring, but weather patterns are changing so every area of the country is experiencing different seasons at different times. Some years all areas of the country are hot or cold depending on El Nino conditions.

It’s a good idea to check US weather and when to visit on the Internet. There’s always information available about current conditions around the country. If you do plan a trip don’t forget to bring a current US Visa and your passport, and make sure your have enough travel and medical insurance. Make your hotel reservations before you leave home, especially if you plan to visit a national park. You’ll need a valid driver’s license and adequate liability insurance, and a couple of credit card or debit cards? they’re easier and safer to use than cash. The most important thing to bring with you regardless of the season is an open mind. There are all sorts of things to experience and most of them can only be found in the States.
