Bastakiya. One of the last remaining pockets of Old Dubai, home to many reconstructed buildings in the traditional style, the atmosphere is very evocative and there are a lot of delightful art galleries and cafes to explore.

Burj Dubai — The world’s tallest structure and still growing taller every day. It is over 800 m tall (300 m taller than Taipei 101, the previous record-holder) and was expected to be completed in September 2009.
