Living Standarts

For years, most people believed that the cost of living in Mexico was cheap, and during the 60s and 70s it was, but cheap in Mexico is not that cheap anymore. Dollars and Euros give you more buying power in Mexico today, but spending pesos gives you less buying power, so in that sense Mexico could be considered cheaper than the United States and Europe. When Americans, Canadians and Europeans started to buy retirement homes in Mexico, the prices began to increase, so people now consider the cost of living in Mexico moderate, which means it’s not cheap, but there are still values in housing, domestically grown products, and anything else that’s not imported. Hotels still offer vacationer’s relatively cheap hotel rooms, but there are hotels that are considered expensive. Restaurants and nightclubs are still considered a value, but it depends where you’re staying, and what you’re eating and drinking.
